Aston Martin confirms two new Lagonda models coming by 2023

Following the recent debut of the stunning DB11 Volante, Aston Martin has confirmed that the brand will introduce two new Lagonda models by 2023. The two new models will join the Lagonda Taraf, but we don’t know yet what they will be.

Andy Palmer, Aston Martin CEO revealed to Car and Driver that the two new models are in the works, but that they won’t be traditional sedans or even SUVs.

“The truth is, I don’t want either of them to be what you’d call a traditional sedan,” Palmer told Car and Driver in a recent interview. “If we just do another three-box sedan, it’s going to be hard to break into that market. So what I’m challenging the design guys to do is to look for something that breaks that duopoly [between Rolls-Royce and Bentley], but which still has appeal to what is a relatively conservative market and still very much a chauffeur-driven market.”

Both models will be based on the same platform as the upcoming Aston Martin DBX SUV. Both Lagonda models will also likely share powertrains with the DBX, which may also include an electric version.
