As we reported just a few days ago, BMW is giving the 2019 BMW i3 a larger battery to help it compete with the growing number of electric vehicles. The 2019 BMW i3 and i3s now have a 42.2 kWh battery, which gives the electric car a driving range up to 153 miles, which is an improvement from the current 115 mile range.
The new 42.2 kWh battery in the 2019 i3 provides nearly a 30 percent improvement over the current battery, while its 153 mile driving range is almost double the original i3. While the fully electric i3 can travel 153 miles between charges, BMW has not announced the range of the updated 2019 i3 with the range extender.
Other updates to the 2019 i3 include, a new Jucaro Beige Metallic exterior color, a new brown color for the optional Mega World upholstery and full LED headlights. iDrive 6.0 is now featured on the standard navigation system. A Wi-Fi hotspot and wireless charging are also available.
